The Nike Air Griffey Max 1 Emerald is an original colorway of Ken Griffey Jr.s former signature shoe with Nike that was reissued in February 2021. Along with the Freshwater, the Emerald edition of the Baseball Hall of Famers classic Air Griffey Max 1 was brought back by Nike to honor the shoes 25-year-anniversary in 2021. The Emerald gets its nickname from its color block, which refers to the team uniform colors of the Mariners, who play in the Emerald City, otherwise known as Seattle. A large white leather Swoosh appears on the toe of the Emerald base. Black synthetic nubuck is found along the eyelets and on the mudguard.
